Seung Hye (Shang) Yang

Seung Hye “Shang” Yang is a second-year law student at Boston College Law School. Shang graduated magna cum laude from Binghamton University, State University of New York with degrees in PPL (Politics, Philosophy, Law) and History. Prior to law school, she worked as a paralegal for a year at Brooklyn Legal Services’ Disability Advocacy Unit.

At Boston College Law School, Shang serves as the president of APALSA for the 2022-2023 school year. She is also a writer for the school’s blog, BC Law: Impact. Shang is also involved in her school’s Compassionate Release clinic, helping lifers who have shown considerable efforts in restorative justice obtain parole. She spent her 1L summer at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton, and Garrison in New York and will be returning to Paul, Weiss as a 2L Pauli Murray Diversity Scholar for her 2L summer.
