Why now?
DHL was founded in response to the significant underrepresentation of Asian American and Pacific Islander attorneys in leadership positions across the legal profession. Our roots continue to inform our belief that representation, mentorship, access, and professional opportunity matter.
Today, we work to help develop a more diverse generation of legal leaders. Through scholarships, mentorship, professional connections, and community, DHL helps promising law students overcome barriers, develop as leaders, and build lasting careers in law.
“According to an ongoing research project called A Portrait of Asian Americans in the Law, many Asian American attorneys report experiencing inadequate access to mentors and contacts as a primary barrier to career advancement.”
